When I was young my mother taught me, “always return things in better condition than they were given to you in” … I just wish people treated the earth with that notion.

If you’re feeling small today I dare you to sit up straighter, look someone who scares you directly in the eye, take up room at the dinner table, make yourself bigger, when ‘sorry’ laps at the back of your tongue, tries to pick up after you, remind yourself that your existence doesn’t demand an apology, that you are allowed to make mess and take up space, do not be afraid to expand. Every single goddamn minute. Expand, expand, expand

bonesxv sent: I have grown up with a Christian family. My mom and dad aren't big Christians but they believe in god. I have been growing up going to church. But lately I have been questioning God. What proof is there of him? The bible was written by men. I would pray to god and Jesus himself because that's what I was taught to do. When I go to church they say god is first and stuff like that. It makes me feel guilty for questioning. But can I be happy and be safe in not believing in god ?

simply-kennaa:

Of course it’s completely up to you what you choose to believe in, but of course you would be happy and safe not believing in a god. The only person that controls your life is YOU. So as long as you make smart choices and surround yourself with positivity everything will be fine. I only believe in things that can be proved. To me a magic invisible man in the sky is silly. You shouldn’t feel guilty for questioning anything ever. In fact, question everything. Don’t just believe things because someone said it’s true. Don’t just believe things because a religious book told you to. Look for proof. Look for what makes you feel right and happy. xoxo

in case you need some encouragement today, IT’S ONE DAY CLOSER TO AUTUMN. one day closer to jeans and boots and scarves and sweaters and beautiful trees and frost on the grass and actually wanting to go outside and cooler temperatures and happiness.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is, ‘It’s okay.’ It’s okay for me to be kind to myself. It’s okay to be wrong. It’s okay to get mad. It’s okay to be flawed. It’s okay to be happy. It’s okay to move on.
